Energy Converter
Joules, calories, kWh, BTU, eV, and foot-pounds.
This charge converter changes mAh to coulombs, Ah to mAh, and coulombs to elementary charges. Use it to compare battery capacities or check physics homework.

A battery's mAh rating tells you how much charge it holds, not how much energy. To get energy, multiply by the voltage: a 3,000 mAh phone battery at 3.85 V stores about 11.6 Wh. Two batteries with the same mAh but different voltages hold different amounts of energy, which is why airlines set their limits in watt-hours.
3.6 coulombs. A milliampere flowing for one hour is 0.001 A × 3,600 s.
Divide by 1,000. For example, 5,000 mAh is 5 Ah.
Multiply mAh by the voltage and divide by 1,000. 10,000 mAh at 3.7 V is 37 Wh.
