Days Between Dates
Counts the gap between two dates in days, weeks, and months.
Pick a start date and add or subtract days, weeks, months, or years. The date calculator returns the new date with its weekday.
The period is applied in a fixed order:
The order matters. January 31 plus 1 month and 1 day gives March 1: the month is applied first and clamped to the last day of February, and only then is the day added. All dates follow the Gregorian calendar.
Adding days and adding months give different answers. 3 months from January 31 is April 30, but 90 days from January 31 is May 1 in a non-leap year. If a contract or notice says "90 days", count days. If it says "3 months", count months.
Enter the start date, choose Add, and type the number of days. The calculator handles month lengths and leap years for you.
February has no 31st, so the result moves to the last day of February: the 28th, or the 29th in a leap year.
The calculator follows the Gregorian calendar. Years divisible by 4 are leap years, except century years not divisible by 400. So 2000 was a leap year and 1900 was not.
