How to use the PPC Calculator

  1. Enter the Ad cost and the number of Clicks.
  2. Add Impressions for CTR and Conversions for conversion rate and CPA.
  3. Press Calculate. The cost per click appears first, followed by every other metric you have data for.

How it works

CPC = cost ÷ clicks
CTR = clicks ÷ impressions
conversion rate = conversions ÷ clicks
CPA = cost ÷ conversions
CPM = cost ÷ impressions × 1,000

Examples

  • $1,000 for 2,500 clicks from 100,000 impressions: $0.40 CPC and a 2.5% CTR.
  • If 50 of those clicks convert, the conversion rate is 2% and the CPA is $20.

Which number to improve first

CPA is usually the number that decides profit. You can lower it three ways: pay less per click, raise the click-through rate so ads reach the right people, or raise the conversion rate on your landing page. The last one often has the most room to move.

Limitations

  • Uses totals for the period. It does not track changes day by day.
  • Conversions counted by different platforms may not match.
