Bulk Barcode Generator

Paste a list of up to 500 codes and turn it into barcodes in one go. EAN and UPC check digits are added or checked line by line, and you download a ZIP of images or a PDF of labels sized for common sticker sheets.

Drawn in your browser. Your list is not uploaded.

Up to 500 lines. Paste two columns from a spreadsheet to print the second one as a caption above each barcode.

Fill the list with a numbered sequence

How to use the Bulk Barcode Generator

  1. Pick the Format. Code 128 suits your own SKUs and asset tags. EAN-13 and UPC-A are for retail numbers your company got from GS1.
  2. Paste the codes into the list, one per line, or upload a .txt or .csv file. To print a caption, paste two columns from a spreadsheet: the code first, then the text.
  3. Fix any line listed under the preview. Lines with errors are left out of the downloads.
  4. Set the bar width, height, and colors. Choose a label sheet and how many copies of each code you need.
  5. Press PDF labels and print at 100% scale, or download a ZIP of PNG or SVG files.

How it works

  • Every line goes through the same checks as the single Barcode Generator: the characters each format allows, and the GS1 check digit for EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, ITF-14, and ISBN. A missing check digit is added. A wrong one is reported with the digit it should be.
  • JsBarcode draws the bars in your browser. The PDF is built with pdf-lib from the same bar positions, so the bars stay vector shapes and print sharp at any label size.
  • Each barcode is scaled to fit its label with a small margin, keeping its proportions. A caption from the second column is printed above it.
  • PNG files are drawn at 3 pixels per unit, so a bar width of 2 gives bars 6 pixels wide.
  • The PDF uses the standard Helvetica and Courier fonts, which only cover Latin letters. Other scripts in a caption print as question marks.

Examples

  • Asset tags: fill a sequence with the prefix ASSET-, start 1, 120 codes, and 4 digits. The list runs from ASSET-0001 to ASSET-0120 and fills 6 sheets of the 21-label A4 layout.
  • Retail: the EAN-13 line 590123412345 gets check digit 7 and prints as 5901234123457.
  • Warehouse bins: Code 39 lines such as BIN A-01 work with older handheld scanners that only read Code 39.
  • Two columns pasted from a sheet, SKU-10001 and Blue mug, print the words Blue mug above the barcode.

Limitations

  • Up to 500 lines per batch and 50 copies of each code, with at most 5,000 labels in one PDF.
  • Retail barcodes need numbers assigned to your company by GS1. Made-up numbers scan, but stores and marketplaces reject them.
  • The layouts match common sheets, but printers can shift a page by a millimetre or two. Print one page with label outlines on plain paper and hold it against a sheet before you print on labels.
  • On small labels, long Code 128 values shrink until the bars are too thin to scan. Use shorter values or a larger label.
  • QR codes in bulk are made with the Bulk QR Code Generator.

Make barcodes in bulk and print labels

Turn a spreadsheet column into barcodes or QR codes, print them on A4 or Letter label sheets, and scan a test page before you print the rest.

Frequently asked questions

How many barcodes can I make at once?

Up to 500 lines per batch. With copies, one PDF can hold up to 5,000 labels.

Can I make barcodes from an Excel list?

Yes. Copy the column from Excel or Google Sheets and paste it into the list, or save the sheet as CSV and upload it. A second column becomes the caption.

How do I print barcodes on Avery label sheets?

Choose the layout that matches your sheet, download the PDF, and print it at 100% (actual size), not fit to page. The L7160, L7651, and 5160 sizes are built in.

Is my list uploaded?

No. The barcodes, the ZIP, and the PDF are all made in your browser.
