OGG to MP3

Create an MP3 copy of an OGG recording for playback software that cannot open OGG. Listen to the result before downloading.

Audio and transcripts stay on your device. Processing runs in your browser.

OGG. Up to 100 MiB per file (50 MiB on touch devices), 1800 seconds. Decoded audio memory limits also apply.

    Settings

Bitrate applies to MP3 and AAC. WAV uses 16-bit PCM; FLAC is lossless. OGG uses quality-based encoding.

No account or daily usage quota. File and device limits protect your browser from running out of memory.

How to use OGG to MP3

    1. Choose your OGG file from your device. The page checks the extension, file header and readable duration.
    2. The output format is fixed to MP3 for this converter.
    3. Set the sample rate and mono or stereo channels. Set a bitrate for MP3 or M4A output.
    4. Press Convert audio. The processing engine loads only when needed.
    5. Play the result and download it when it suits your needs.

Vorbis, Opus and OGG playback support

OGG is a container and may hold Vorbis, Opus or another stream. This tool checks that the file has an OGG header, then relies on the available browser decoder and conversion engine to read its audio.

Both Vorbis and Opus are lossy codecs. Converting to MP3 helps compatibility with software that requests MP3, but does not improve the source. Speech may suit mono output; keep stereo for recordings where channel placement matters.

    A practical workflow

Use OGG to MP3 when a receiving app requests MP3. Convert a short recording first, listen to the loudest and quietest passages, and keep both the source and the result until you have checked playback.

To remove an unwanted section from an MP3 copy, open MP3 Cutter. To reduce the bitrate of an existing MP3, use MP3 Compressor.

    Before you download

    • Only a readable, supported audio stream can be converted. Encrypted files and damaged media are unsupported.
    • Large files may exceed browser memory even when their compressed size fits the displayed limit.
    • Changing format does not guarantee a smaller file or better sound. Output tags and artwork may differ from the source.

    Frequently asked questions

Will OGG to MP3 improve the sound?

No. The source is decoded and compressed again as MP3. Raise the output bitrate to reduce additional loss, and keep the original OGG if you plan more editing.

    Is my OGG file uploaded?

No. The file is read and processed in your browser. The audio engine downloads from this site, but the selected media is not sent to a server.

    Can I choose mono output?

Yes. Choose Mono under Channels. This downmixes the recording into one channel; it does not isolate a voice or remove background music.

Why can a file fail below the size limit?

Compressed size does not describe decoded memory use. Duration, sample rate, channels, codec support and available browser memory also affect whether processing succeeds.
