How to use the Text Merger

  1. Paste text into two or more input boxes.
  2. Choose Join one after another to stack the inputs, or Merge line by line to combine matching rows across them.
  3. Enter a separator. In line-by-line mode this becomes the column separator between each source line.
  4. Copy or download the merged result.

How it works

In normal join mode, the result is simply the input texts in order, with your separator inserted between each one. In line-by-line mode, each input is split into lines first. The tool then builds row 1 from line 1 of every input, row 2 from line 2 of every input, and so on until it reaches the longest input.

If one input runs out of lines before the others, its missing value for that row is treated as empty text, so the remaining inputs can still be merged.

Examples

  • Line by line, a / b and 1 / 2 with , gives a, 1 and b, 2.
  • Joining Hello and world with a space gives Hello world.
  • Joining three paragraphs with \n\n keeps a blank line between each part.

Limitations

  • Line-by-line merge does not try to match lines by content. It uses line position only.
  • If one input has extra blank lines, those blank lines become part of the merged output.
  • Separators are inserted exactly as typed, including spaces and line breaks.
  • Inputs up to 10 MB total are supported.

Use the normal join mode and enter the separator you want between the parts. A blank separator stitches them directly together.
