Broken Link Checker

Check one page for broken links on our server and review which URLs fail, redirect, or time out. Nothing is stored.

How to use the Broken Link Checker

  1. Enter the page URL you want to inspect.
  2. Start the check.
  3. Review the table for 4xx, 5xx, timeout, DNS, and redirect issues, then fix or replace the problem links.

How it works

This check runs on our server. The page address is used only for this check and is not stored.

The checker fetches one page, collects normal anchor links, skips mailto:, tel:, JavaScript links, and same-page fragments, then deduplicates the list. It checks up to 100 links in batches of eight. Each link starts with a HEAD request and falls back to GET when the server returns 405 or 403.

A broken link is any checked URL that returns 4xx, 5xx, a timeout, or a DNS failure.

Examples

  • An old partner URL that now returns 404 is listed as broken.
  • A moved article that returns 301 is shown with both the original URL and the final URL.
  • A third-party site that blocks HEAD requests can still be checked with the GET fallback.

Limitations

  • The checker runs on one page and tests up to 100 links per request.
  • Links that appear only after JavaScript runs are not included.
  • A temporary timeout or rate limit on the target site can make a healthy link look broken for one check.

Frequently asked questions

Does the checker follow redirects?

Yes. The final URL and status are shown so you can see whether a link still works after a redirect.

Why are some links skipped?

The tool skips mail links, phone links, JavaScript links, and fragments that only jump to another section on the same page.

Can I scan my whole site for broken links?

Not with this tool. It is limited to one page and up to 100 checked links per request.
