How to convert SVG to JPG

  1. Paste the SVG code or drop the file.
  2. Choose a scale or an exact width or height.
  3. Pick the Background color. JPG can't be transparent, so this fills every empty area.
  4. Set the quality. 92 is the default and looks clean for graphics.
  5. Press Download JPG.

How it works

  • The canvas is filled with the background color, and the SVG is drawn on top at the exact target size, so shapes and text are crisp.
  • The pixels are encoded with MozJPEG. From quality 90 up, color is stored at full resolution (4:4:4), which keeps colored lines and small text free of fringes. Below 90 the usual half-resolution color (4:2:0) is used to save space.
  • The size rules are the same as for SVG to PNG: the SVG's own size times the scale, or your exact width or height with the ratio kept.

Examples

  • A 24 × 24 icon at 4x on white becomes a 96 × 96 JPG.
  • The 64 × 64 sample icon at 8x, quality 92, becomes a 512 × 512 JPG with the rounded corners on white.
  • A logo with a transparent background on a dark brand color: pick that color as the background so the edges blend in.

JPG or PNG for a converted SVG?

SVG artwork usually has flat colors and sharp edges, which PNG stores without loss and often in fewer bytes than JPG. Choose JPG only when the place you upload to asks for it, or when the SVG contains photos or large gradients. For transparency, use SVG to PNG or SVG to WebP.

Limitations

  • No transparency. Transparent areas take the background color.
  • Linked images and web fonts are not loaded.
  • Up to 8000 pixels on each side.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the background white?

JPG has no transparency, so every empty part of the SVG must be filled. White is the default; pick any color under Background.

What JPG quality should I use?

92 keeps graphics clean with full color resolution. Go down to 80 for smaller files, and expect some softness around sharp edges.

Is JPG a good format for logos?

Not usually. Flat colors and sharp edges are what JPG handles worst. Use PNG, WebP, or the SVG itself when you can.
